My Twentysomething Life

I Do, Make, Read, Watch, Eat…

Why I Haven’t Been Blogging

I realized this morning that I haven’t been blogging very much.  And that made me pretty sad.  I haven’t been blogging because I have been sick and busy.  I went to the doctor yesterday because I hadn’t been feeling well all weekend and it turns out that I have a severe bladder infection.  Great…just what I needed.

I have been trying to catch up on Pretty Little Liars so I can watch it on TV when it starts again in January.
I am trying to reach my goal of 200 books read this year.  I only have around 20 to go.
I am trying to make a dent in my new movie list.  I also requested a bunch of movies from the library and they all came in at once, so now I’m playing catch up.
I am trying to write a 50,000 word novel this month as a part of National Novel Writing Month.  But I am so behind!

Is anyone else trying to meet some of their goals in the next two months?

When I Relax

When I relax, I am either laying on the couch or am snuggled into the middle of the couch where the cushions sag into a snuggly hole.  I am wrapped in our warm, soft red blanket.  There is a big red bowl of freshly popped and perfectly salted popcorn.  And I am either reading a great book, playing cards with Adam, or watching a movie.  For me that is the epitome of relaxation.  What can I say? I’m pretty low maintenance.

Les Mis

Well, I got so distracted with having strep again and being sick that I forgot to tell you about Les Mis.

I had been waiting forever to go and see Les Mis, and we finally got to go early this week.  Adam and I both loved it.  I was worried that Adam wouldn’t like it, but he said that he liked it more than he thought he would.  He actually really liked it.  He said it was the best musical he’s ever seen.

I went into it knowing most of the music but hardly any of the story, and I fell in love with all of it.  And I bawled, like a baby.  It was kinda hard to pull myself together (haha).  The music was beautiful, and the story captivating.

I cannot wait until I get to see it again!

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter

Last week I bought a box of popcorn (my favorite treat) and there were two codes for free redbox rentals.  So last night I rented Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter because it has been on my “to watch list” forever now.

Almost a year ago I read the book written by Seth Grahame-Smith and I absolutely loved it.  Ever since then I have been waiting to see the movie.  I didn’t get to go see it in theatre and every time I have gone to check it out it isn’t there.  And last night I went to two redbox machines until I found it.

I really enjoyed the movie for it’s action and fight scenes, but I enjoyed the book for its more extensive plot.

It was a fun telling of Abraham Lincoln’s history.  I really thought it was a fun story and really enjoyed it.  Also, the actor they got to play Lincoln is perfect.

So glad I finally got to check this movie off of my list.

And since it has been snowing this weekend, I have watched:  The Dark Knight, lots of Big Bang Theory, The Dark Knight Rises, and Pitch Perfect, again.  And who knows what tomorrow will hold.

Coming soon:  my weekend craft fail!
