My Twentysomething Life

I Do, Make, Read, Watch, Eat…

I’m not out of ideas

Even though I did not blog all weekend, I am not out of ideas.  I’m just out of memory.  I keep forgetting to do things to write the blog posts that I have thought of.

Blog posts coming as soon as I remember to do what I need to do to write them.

New clothes–I have been meaning to write this one for a while now.  I just haven’t taken the pictures of my new clothes yet!  And now they’re all dirty, so this will have to wait at least one more day, but probably two since Adam will need to be free to take the pictures for me, but hopefully soon you will get to see a blog post of my new work clothes.  They are pretty cute 🙂

Crafts–I have done a few crafts recently, and I am excited to show them to you!  But I, again, just haven’t taken the pictures yet, but my goal is to do this tonight, so hopefully you will have some new crafty photos coming to you soon!

Lessons from the Book of Job–I recently finished reading Job for my bible reading and I had some interesting thoughts come up throughout that I wanted to share with you.  I just need to get out my journal so I can remember what they were!  But hopefully this one will be ready sometime this week.

I hope you all keep reading until then!

Later tonight–a post about my weekend and some movies I have been watching.

What a Weekend

Wow, it feels like it has been longer than only 2 days since my last blog post!  So much has happened since Friday.

Friday night at work there wasn’t too much going on, so I started watching a new show on Netflix.  Lately I had been watching tons of Grey’s Anatomy, but I am all caught up and ready for the new season this Thursday!!  So I have been looking for a new show to watch, so I picked Pretty Little Liars.  I only watched two episodes on Friday, but that was enough to get me hooked!  Question: How do those pretty little liars get their hair to look so perfect?!

After work, I watched What Not To Wear and waited for Adam to come home from playing with some of his friends.  When he got home, we took a late night trip to Walmart, which we have not done in forever.  We browsed and got some grocery shopping done and got home around one AM.  But it was fun to spend that time together.

Saturday morning we both just woke up around 9.  We took it easy in the morning, reading and watching cartoons, and then we went out to run some errands.  Adam’s mission: Yugioh cards.  My mission:  some new work clothes.

Adam was successful at the first store we went to: Target.  Then we went to Books a Million where I bought the new Nicholas Sparks book (!) and got a great deal on it with my member coupons!  Then we went to the mall and did some shopping (there will be a shopping/clothing/work clothes rant coming soon).  We finished our excursion with Pals (for me) and a pretzel (for Adam).  Delicious!

When we got home, Adam and Jacob played some Yugioh and I crafted upstairs (pics to come) and watched more Pretty Little Liars.  Then Jacob left, I made dinner, and we went over to Jacob and Lauren’s to play some games with friends.  It was so fun!  We made another stop at Walmart on our way home, for a full length mirror, can you believe that we didn’t have one?!

Sunday morning we woke up, went to church, and had lunch at Taco Bell.  Then we watched some Big Bang Theory, Amanda came over to do laundry, and we called my parents.  After church in the evening Adam and I watched Harry Potter 7.1 and just hung out.  It was a great weekend!

Welcome Back

It has been so busy around here.  I haven’t had time to blog.  I have been busy the last two weeks getting ready for registration and it’s here.  Yesterday and today are registration days which are very hectic for financial aid.  But I’m glad that the students are back.  So, welcome back students.

I also wanted to say to myself: “Welcome back to Pinterest!”  Since I was ahead of schedule this morning before work I took some time to welcome myself back to Pinterest.  Here are some of my favorite pins from my pinning this morning:

1I wish I had a princess apron 🙂
2I wish I had a cute bench to decorate.  Or a place to put a cute bench like this.

And this is for my father and my grandfather:  Enjoy!

I have sure missed Pinterest!

Sick Thursday

Yesterday I woke up with a crazy migraine.  I have been getting them pretty frequently, which is pretty obnoxious, but yesterday’s was worse than usual.  I went in to work, hoping that all the medicine I took would kick in, but the combination of the noise, light, and staring at the computer was too much for me and I only made it 30 minutes before getting sick and going home.  At home I slept until 1 and then I had a recheck appointment on my shoulder.  Luckily I am feeling a lot better today.  Since I was sick yesterday I did not get a chance to give you my Thursday-Morning Tell-About Update, or my April Goals Update, so I’m going to give them to you now.

My Craft to-do list

These are some crafts that I am dying to try.  I got them off pinterest, but if you click on the photos it will take you to the website where they came from so I can give these wonderfully crafty people the credit they deserve.
1Since crocheting is a craft that I can do that doesn’t hurt my shoulder I have been searching pinterest for fun crochet things to do.  I found this awesome scarf and thought of one of my best friends, so it is on my to-do list to make one for her, and hopefully it turns out as cute as this!

Doesn’t this blanket look super wonderful and cozy?  I think so!  So, after I get the money for the yarn and a bigger crochet hook I am going to tackle this beautiful blanket.

I think that this idea is super fun.  I don’t really need an end table, so if I made this I do not know where I would put it, but I would have to figure something out because it is just stinkin cute!

I love this thing, and I think it would be really easy to make!  I’m thinking a old cookie sheet, some magnets and scrapbook paper.  This one probably won’tget made for a while, but I think it is really cute and would probably help me be more organized.

5I really love this table runner and have for a while.  My parents just gave us a table that looks almost exactly like this and I am dying to try this!  I have some of my great-grandmother’s handmade doilies, and since my doilie skills still need some work, I jsut need more of them to finish this.  Anyone know where I can get some doilies?

What’s on your craft to-do list?

Picking up the ball

Hey all!  I’m sorry that I dropped the ball on blogging the last couple days.  So here are all the things I would have told you the last couple days if I had blogged.

I finally finished Julie and Julia and I really enjoyed it.  It took me a while to read it, but it was a good book.  This afternoon I started an awesome book and have already read 100 pages of it!  I am reading Me, Myself, and Bob which is about the creator of VeggieTales.  It is really funny and makes me want to watch every (classic) VeggieTale movie!  I will probably have to buy all of them because I dread the day that my child will grow up without VeggieTales.

Yesterday I watched Bull Durham, and I really enjoyed it.  It was a fun movie.

Adam has strep, and yet he left me for the evening.  He is playing Risk with his friends, complete with mask and gloves so he does not contaminate them.

I made this for the bedroom, and I love it!
IMG_1551Bonus points if you can guess where the quote came from!

I also just finished these hats for my little cousins.  This first one is a beardo hat identical to Adam’s, just smaller:
IMG_1555And this one is based on a photo I saw on Pinterest that did not have a pattern, so I had to make up the pattern myself.  The first picture is of the top, and the second from the side.  Hopefully it gives you a good idea of what it looks like.

I am eating cotton candy Trix yogurt, which is particularly delicious while writing this blog and watching Hamlet, which is a Best Picture movie.  And speaking of that, I can’t believe I am almost done!  Speaking of best pictures…when I finish the list, I am considering writing a series of blog posts reviewing each movie.  Is this something you would enjoy reading?

After finishing this post, I will start on another project.  My mother and father’s wedding album has fallen apart.  They asked me to re-do it for them, so I will be working on that tonight.  I hope it turns out well!

I hope your night is as good as mine!

Pinterest Crafts I am Dying to Try!

I love looking at pinterest.  I love finding new ways to decorate my home, new recipes to try and a bunch of other fun things.  I mean come on, who doesn’t love pinterest?!  Below you will find six crafts that I want to do the next time I have money for a new craft.

1I just happened to stumble upon this idea on pinterest this week and immediately fell in love with it!  I really love the idea of having a big photo in a window frame.  I think this is so pretty, and it would look great in our bedroom.  The only problem for me will be finding a window frame and picking only one picture to put in it!

2Now, I don’t have a porch or a patio to put something like this on, but I think these mason jar candles are just so cute.  I’m sure when I get around to making these I will wind a cute place for them.  Maybe on the floor in the living room?  Hmmm..

3I just think this is so pretty!  I love how the picture and words blend together.  I think this would be really cute with a page from the Bible with our wedding verse on it.  But that would mean tearing a page out of a Bible…yikes!  Maybe I’ll find some other way to do this…

4I love this quote, and it makes it even better that it is from Catching Fire.  I just think this would be a fun quote to have hanging up in my house, and also relatively cheap and easy to do.

5I think this is so stinking cute!  The only problem is that I would have to find a huge curtain rod to be able to fit “Tomlinson” on it, and even then I’m not even sure I have enough wall space anywhere in our apartment.  But I love this idea, so I’m going to be looking for the perfect spot and curtain rod for it.

7This candle holder is so cute.  I would love to make a few of these and put them in our bedroom.  They are adorable.  And when I read about them it said that when you have a candle inside the music notes show up on the wall.  That is pretty fun.

Those are the crafts I am waiting patiently to complete.  What about you?  Do you have a craft you’re just dying to do?
